Current Responsibilities – Self-employed trading as J.D. Engineering. Business established in 1988 to provide inspections and advise on: LOLER (Lifting Equipment and Lifting Operations Regulations), PUWER (Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations) together with supply and sale of certified lifting equipment.

Business experience: 20 years in the Far East as an Estate Manager, and then Executive Director of a Singapore based Ship Owning Company.

Returned to the UK on a permanent basis in early 1980’s with executive responsibilities for a Hotel in Northern Spain and a Rose Growing Business in Majorca.

Public service experience: Served as a  Parish Councillor for Wellingore from 1984 to 2001

District Councillor on North Kesteven District Council from 1986 to 1995. Serving 4 years as Chairman of the Council’s Policy Committee.

Legal experience: Member of National Valuation Tribunal from 1992 to 2010. The last 12 years served as President of the Lincolnshire Valuation Tribunal. Trained at the Judicial Studies Board as a Trainer of new and existing Tribunal Members.

Business experience: Over 20 years as a Committee Member of the Lincoln/Sleaford branch of the Federation of Small Businesses.

Governance & Leadership experience: Chairman of Governors of Sir William Robertson School for 20 years.

Served on the Governing Body of Lincoln College and Navenby Primary School.
